The Inn at St. John is a historic Victorian Inn located just off the west end of downtown Portland, Me. The Inn houses 39 distinctive guest rooms, each tastefully appointed and rich in style and character. Since every guest room at the Inn at St. John is unique in design, you will find period wallpaper and Victorian styled furniture in some rooms, where others will have exposed brick with a more contemporary feel. Whichever room style suits you best, you are sure to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
A continental breakfast is served each morning in our cozy breakfast alcove from 6:00am until 10:00am. Offerings include a variety of pastries, English muffins and bagels for toasting, fresh fruit, two juice selections and fresh, hot coffee. New additions to our breakfast selection include cereals and yogurt cups.
We offer three styles of guest rooms for you to choose from, Luxury Accommodations, Traditional Accommodations & Value Accommodations. Our luxury hotel rooms have either a king or queen sized bed, jetted bathtub, flat panel television and exposed brick. Traditional hotel rooms at the Inn include king, queen, full or two beds (one queen and one full). The value hotel rooms we offer are more European styled, with either a private bathroom across the hall from your guest room or a shared bathroom across the hall from your guest room.
Please remember, The Inn is an older structure and we would like to remind our guests that there is no elevator. If you need a lobby level room, please request "Lobby Level" when booking your stay, and we will accommodate based on availability.
Check-in and Check-out
Check-in: begins at 1pm
Check-out: by 11am Monday-Saturday, 12 noon Sunday
Guests may check-in anytime after 1 pm on the day of arrival. Since your reservation is guaranteed by full payment of your first night stay, late arrivals are no problem. The reception desk is staffed 24 hours a day for your convience. Please see our reservation and cancellation policy for more information.
Since all amenities and services are included with your rate, you simply drop off your room key at the front desk and your check-out is complete.
Should you arrive prior to check-in, you are welcome to leave your car in our parking lot and drop off your luggage at the front desk.
To reserve a room at The Inn at St. John you must provide a valid credit card, which will be charged as we process your request. We charge in full for the first night of your reservation. This guarantees your guest room for arrival anytime after 1:00pm.
When making a reservation online, please note that you will receive two confirmation letters from us. The first confirmation is for receipt of your reservation request. After your deposit has been processed, you will receive a second confirmation letter stating that your credit card has been charged. If you notice any incorrect information, please contact us to avoid booking errors. We are staffed 24 hours a day and can be reached by dialing our toll free reservation hotline at 1-800-636-9127.
You have up until 24 hours prior to arrival to cancel your reservation with a $15.00 cancellation fee. Should you not cancel your reservation with 24hrs. notice, your first nights deposit is non-refundable.
For the health and safety of our guests The Inn at St John is a non-smoking hotel. Guests who smoke in their rooms will be charged a $150.00 fee for deep cleaning. Smoking is permitted outside in our designated smoking area.
We will reimburse up to $7 for taxi service from the Airport and up to $5 from the Transportation Center.
